My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"There is the story you think you are living in, and then there is the invisible, secret, unguessed-at core of that story, around which everything else revolves."
The Tenth Muse by Catherine Chung was refreshingly different and utterly engaging.
It entwines a mathematical mystery with a mystery about the main character's own past and family. Woven into it all is the struggle of a female mathematician to have her work and talent seen, rather than disregarded or disbelieved by the men around her. A ride worth taking.
